Build Your Own Alter
There are some very unique places in the world which actively use the elements in ceremony creating a high vibration and connection to Spirit within the land. Bali and a few locations in India come to mind, as these cultures maintain active spiritual practices which help to activate the environments, living spaces and temples. The communities of these locations hold deep devotion to Source and place importance upon creating ritual utilizing the elements as a part of their daily practice or way of living. Ritual creates a palpable feeling of peace and expansion within the person and the surrounding area. In Bali, you can literally feel Spirit pulsating through the land because of the level of love that the Balinese have for their Hindu Gods. Their mediation practice, and devotion to keeping active alters, creates a palpable feeling of being alive within every cell.
Devotion to the Creator through active ritual, dance, singing or open expression is something that Western culture significantly lacks. There is weakness in our spirits and we are oozing out neurotic tendencies to control time, work, love and people. We spend most of our lives inside using light switches rather than starting a fire. We have lost our connection to the elements and do not honor their power. As a result, we are not even aware that they are our lifelines back to God. The Spirit world is here to assist us in our process of remembering who we are. Becoming cognizant of the elements within and without will help you to recreate this connection and pulsate as one with the universe.
If you want to become the holy chalice, it is not only important to take the necessary steps and initiations to come into union with her higher self, but you also need to create devotion to Source. When ceremonies or rituals are completed they usually use the elements to invoke a higher power. Making your home into an active temple with an alter is not just for spiritual materialism or show, it is an absolute necessity. This is why so many sacred lands carry such powerful energy, the people on these lands maintain connection to Spirit.
In your process of becoming pregnant and raising your family it is vital for you to create an environment that is full of life force. Remember, your environment is programming your DNA. Creating an alter where you live makes your home into an active temple. If your environment is vibrating from the love and devotion you have put into this, your cells will respond. An alter is the representation of your internal spiritual growth and devotion to Source. Sacred spaces should be formed to honor losses, joys, changes, people, places, deaths, prayers or love. Revering your inner process in an outward way will help you to process and transform.
On your journey to conscious conception create an alter that holds all of the elements in some form that is special to you. You can gather pieces of wood, stones, crystals, leaves, sacred water sources, feathers or specific colored candles. The alter can also contain photos, sacred objects or statues. Create a space to represent your journey to fertility and all the progress you have made. It should only hold objects of spiritual significance and should not be touched by others unless you are comfortable with that.
If you are being effected by a certain element honor that change in your sacred space. Counterbalancing the effects of elements in an outward way will help your consciousness navigate internally. An example of this would be including extra water on the alter if you are dealing with fire in your life. You can also use the space to invoke the elements for support, manifestation, changes or balance. Pray and mediate within your sacred space or create multiple areas in your home which hold this type of energy. Everyone who enters your home will naturally feel the spiritual essence of the heightened environment, and as a result your awakening will touch them too.
