Water Element

My Spiritual Transformation and Journey Through the Elements

The first time I realized that the elements are a part of our internal and external spiritual journey was in a Vipassana meditation center in the woods in northern California. It was created by a man from India, S.N. Goenka, who opened spiritual centers across the world for the purpose of holding three and ten-day silent meditation courses.

I could not look at another person, read, exercise or use the Internet for ten days. The silence was torturous, but I did learn a lot about myself. The experience helped me to realize that each of the elements discussed here can be felt pulsating through our bodies.

These elements represent our karmas, past lives and DNA templates, which can all be found within the structures of our muscles, organs, and bones. As I sat in that communal room hour after hour, I could feel the density in my cells weighing me down. Thoughts felt like the wind blowing vigorously. Physical pain would arise like fire, burning in my muscles. Water would move through me, creating either waves of emotion or moments of relief. I witnessed my resistances and watched them dissipate. The silence taught me that we are primarily composed of elements and can internally adjust them through our spiritual practice.

As mentioned previously, my spiritual journey began as a rollercoaster after a spontaneous Kundalini awakening, which felt like the Universe running through my spine and consciousness with a tremendous amount of strength. This energy forces you to find God in all forms so that you can eventually find the Beloved within. An outside force is usually required to make us find ourselves and connect back to Spirit.

Your transformational journey may have begun through infertility. Sickness, death, birth or major changes can also make us reevaluate our lives. These outside forces help us to look in the mirror and process our past, so that we can move towards our destiny, which usually has something to do with healing our biggest wounds so that we can teach others what we have learned.

My alchemical transformation felt similar to psychological and physical surgery as I was forced to look at all the ways I attempted to find happiness, love, and Source outside of myself. This process shifted my belief systems, familial or earthly bonds, relationships, and career. My consciousness was redesigned and my DNA changed.

Spirit helped me find self-mastery and internal power by applying outside pressure through the energetic effects of the elements. When you begin to awaken, there is a general pattern that is helpful to understand as fire, water, air, earth, and ether move through your life creating changes. Just when you think you have cleared yourself, another level of up-leveling occurs and the alchemical process repeats itself.
