The feelings that no mother wants to talk about

I asked a group of women to discuss issues pertaining to motherhood including concerns with parenting, their fears, and triumphs. You are not going to believe what they said – or maybe you will! The words isolation, depression, and need for boundaries were repeated in many interviews. Many of you can probably relate to this.

Mothers are yearning for more help and are desperate for connection and community. The women I spoke to miss their old selves and the amount of time they had for personal development. They have fears of dying and also in general fear to live fully. They worry their reactions are going to cause long term damage to their children.

After speaking with eight women these were the trending feelings:

Cultivating a Creative Attitude

“Someone who takes the time to understand their relationship with Source, who actively seeks alignment with their Broader Perspective, who deliberately seeks and finds alignment with who-they-really-are, is more charismatic, more attractive, more effective, and more powerful than a group of millions who have not achieved that alignment.” – Abraham

We are in desperate need of a different type of human being on this planet, one who is connected to their Source and brimming with unique insights. Life pours through the creative individual igniting in them a passion to serve and a commitment to make new and rapid changes on the planet. In fact one could argue that God runs through the creative person. These individuals have a high self-confidence, self-mastery, and put a great deal of unique effort into their achievements. In order to become a fulfilled human being who lives a no limit life we must cultivate creativity in ourselves. The more creative you are as a parent the more creative your child can be. Creative individuals have a unique set of characteristics that set them apart from the masses. Here are the basic attributes of what it takes to be creative.

The Connection Between Our Brain & Food

In order for us to build a new earth we need to change and upgrade our hormones, nervous system, and brain chemistry. Alberto Villodi, author of One Spirit Medicine, wrote an excellent book that makes the connection between our diet, the brain – gut health, and our ability to connect to Spirit and our higher self. He explained that most of the population is running on the limbic brain, which was created for survival and meeting just our basic needs. This part of our brain functions like an animal and is focused on feeding, fighting, fleeing, and fornicating. The human body was not created to operate for just these lower needs and we are cutting ourselves short of our mind-blowing capabilities when we draw our energy from these lower functions.

The limbic system is the part of the brain that craves sugar and cant turn down comfort foods. It is the center that is obsessed with food, in need of constant sex or attention, and suffers from addiction to mind dulling drugs and alcohol. When you are emotionally withdrawing, feeling biased or negative towards another person, or filled with destructive behavior you are functioning from this part of your brain. Most of us are not even aware that we are operating with these types of belief systems, and thus the world is being filled with fear, a lot of guns, and a tendency to run from ourselves. You can see the drive of the limbic system clearly displayed on social media with newsfeeds filled with, fear, food or sex.

Dairy Cows

Eliminate Dairy

Eliminate Dairy Products. My now two year old has had congestion for months, a very common cause of this is dairy and there are many more sources of calcium available. Many conventional milk products such as cheese, yogurt, ice cream, and butter have been altered with a synthetic GE bovine growth hormone (rBGH). Some studies have linked rBGH to elevated risks of cancer. When cows are given this hormone they have been known to suffer from shortened life spans, mastitis, increased birth defects, and high rates of diseases, infertility, and stress. Antibiotics fed to live stock can enter the human food chain, affecting the way that hormones are metabolized in our bodies.

Dr. Christiane Northrup, author of Women’s Bodies Women’s Wisdom, explained that women get relief from heavy menstrual bleeding, and endometriosis when they stop consuming dairy foods. She saw in her personal practice a link to dairy and chronic vaginal discharge, acne, menstrual cramps, fibroids, and intestinal upset. She noted that the patients who changed to organic dairy products sometimes saw a decrease in these symptoms.

Tips on Healing After A Cesarean Birth

As a nurse I have found that many women come in to the hospital expecting a vaginal birth and feel unprepared when they end up with a c-section. For obvious reasons (such as fear) they avoided education on this surgery because they felt it would never happen to them.

The average cesarean rate in the United States is 33% and sadly this rate is rising. Preparing for a healthy surgery and positively moving on after the experience is important for emotional and physical healing. The key to healing is a complete willingness to go through the procedure. But who is really prepared to let themselves be cut open? Who can “let go” that easily?

Obviously, people feel ambivalence or vulnerability when it comes to surgery. If you have had a c-section (or any surgery) in the past old memories may resurface, especially if you were not completely comfortable with the procedure. The body is able to store these memories in the tissues themselves. Emotions may arise later such as grief, loss, and depression. It is just as important to heal on the energetic level after a surgery as the physical level.

Unclutter Your Life

I was raised by both of my Grandmothers who were very different when it came to the upkeep of their homes and of themselves. My father’s mother, Weasy (I could not pronounce Louise) was always a little disheveled with a chaotic home full of cluttered items. My other Grandma Eva held her home, and her appearance, in the highest regard. Through her I learned the meaning of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder; at the time it wasn’t funny, but now it is. I never knew that it was not normal to fold and then refold laundry multiple times or to organize smaller bags in larger ones until I went to college. Through these polar opposite personalities I was able to come to neutral territory about the organization of a home, the importance of letting go of items not needed, and keeping ones with specific meaning that add energetic movement to areas.

Clutter is anything that is getting in the way of you living the life of your dreams and can take the form of mental thoughts, excess weight, physical items, money, or even relationships. Clutter can be internal or external. Here we are going to focus on the connection between clutter in your home and your overall wellbeing. If your house is constantly a mess, you hold on to items from the past, or you have not completed a spring-cleaning – like ever – in your life, it is time to find out the meaning behind your clutter.
